About Me

Born in Barcelona with roots in Guinea Bissau, I’ve always been drawn to art in all its
forms. As a racialized woman in a hegemonic, heteronormative white society, I’ve
often questioned my identity and place in the world—questions that inform much of
my work, particularly around race and gender.
I studied contemporary dance at the Institut del Teatre in Barcelona before shifting to
fashion, earning a degree in Fashion Design from La Llotja. Since then, I’ve worked
on independent projects as a costume designer, stylist, seamstress, and freelance
pattern maker, mainly in theater and film. Afrofuturism is a key influence in my
creative process.
Alongside fashion and performance, I also work with analog photography to explore
intimacy, identity, and resistance. My goal is to create work that empowers Black,
racialized, and Afro-descendent queer individuals who see themselves reflected in
my story.
